Two academics talking

Our mission is to enhance the university’s global presence and promote internationalisation by fostering strong collaborations with universities, research organisations, government, industry, and lifetime learners, both overseas and in Australia.

UTS International is the executive unit of the university that oversees international matters. The office is located within the division of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (International).

UTS International is structured around three areas:

  1. Global Engagement and Mobility
  2. Offshore Development and Growth
  3. International Compliance, Insights and Relations

Global Engagement

  • Global Partnerships: identify and develop institutional level partnerships with universities and other organisations overseas.
  • BUILD Program: provide activities on and off campus, through which students can engage in concepts, learning and discussions related to global leadership, sustainability, and intercultural competencies.
  • Global Mobility Programs: provide opportunities for UTS students to undertake a short period or a semester of study overseas, with a partner institution or third-party provider.
  • UTS Global Pty Ltd is a wholly-owned Australian subsidiary of UTS which has been established to provide a robust governance structure to manage the University's offshore companies. UTS offshore companies currently include a representative office in Beijing (UTS Beijing) and a commercial research institute in Shenzhen (UTS Shenzhen). UTS Global may establish entities in other locations as the University seeks to develop its global engagement opportunities.

Offshore Development and Growth

  • The Offshore Development and Growth team drives UTS’s offshore initiatives, aligning with the university’s broader goals of international engagement and impact. Our mission is to create new opportunities and foster sustainable growth in transnational education and global partnerships.
  • Development: We identify, nurture, and implement offshore partnerships that expand UTS’s global presence. By fostering collaboration, strengthening operational capacity, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs overseas, we help the university remain agile and responsive to the evolving global education landscape.
  • Growth: We focus on scaling and sustaining offshore initiatives by exploring diverse revenue streams and expanding UTS’s global influence. Prioritising long-term impact and high-value projects, we contribute to the university’s strategic goals of enhancing its global reputation and financial sustainability.
