Jose Rodriguez had already made his mark in Colombia, working with big multinational brands in his early 20s. But when he wanted to push his career further, he realised he needed something more. Encouraged by a friend, he decided to take a leap and apply to UTS Business School.
While completing his Master's Degree in Digital Marketing, he found his role as an International Marketing Advisor right here at UTS, thanks to the support and guidance of UTS Careers. Now working at the forefront of innovation, he’s using the skills and confidence he built during his time on campus to help global brands innovate and grow. “I love what I’m doing and every day is different,” Jose shares.
“In my final year, I had the chance to take an internship and I knew one of my subject coordinators was a genetics researcher. When you're in a real working environment, you just absorb things pretty quickly. After I graduated, my supervisor actually offered me a full time position and I've been doing research ever since.”
Fia Sabrina Boedijono (Indonesia)
Bachelor of Forensic Science
“One of the most amazing things about UTS was that it was very practice-driven. It felt like I was working as a journalist during my degree.”
Akash Arora (India)
Master of Arts in Journalism
“The international leadership opportunities at UTS allowed me to have a broader view of the world. I think as the world becomes a lot more globalised and integrated, being able to understand and interact with people from all around the world is so important - and it's those global connections that have really allowed me to thrive.”
Francisco Widjojo (Indonesia)
Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Business
At UTS, I didn’t feel like I was just in a classroom; I felt like I was being equipped to step into the working world. We had industry leaders come and speak to us. I could hear what I was learning was directly applicable to industry.
